Here is how I will lend my problem solving expertise to Congress!
As an engineer with over thirty years experience, my problem solving skills are needed on a daily basis. Initially, I came up with some ideas to overcome these dilemmas, but have found that listening to my employees and working together as a team, we always find the safest and most efficient manner to resolve the problem at hand. The workers are the greatest asset this state possesses.
Why am I, Doug Jamison, an engineer with no political experience, running for US Senate?
Like most Americans, I've watched our political leaders steer this country in the wrong direction. According to James Madison, a US Senator is an agent of both the Union and the State. Today, US Senators are an agent to their own party and the special interest groups that got them elected. I can no longer stand idly by and watch the government, our founding fathers fought so hard for, become its own ruin.
What can Doug Jamison do to put this country on the right path?
* Defend our country.
* Pay down our national debt by eliminating proposed spending projects.
* Lead by example - Senators will take a 50% pay cut in both salary and benefits.
* Cut non-essential government programs to reduce spending
(and to further reduce our debt).
* Repair the Medicare and Social Security programs.
